Singer Tries His Hands In Politics

Tony Tetuila

Singer Tony Tetuila has decided to try his hands in politics as he has indicated his intention to vie for a House of Assembly seat in Kwara State.

Remember Tony Tetuila, one of the trio of the rap group Remedies, that was the biggest group in Nigeria in the 90s? The singer who became popular with his hit song You Don Hit My Car, is in the news again. After being under ground for a long time, Tony is making the waves as a budding politician.
He is in the running for a seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC. Tetuila is doing everything possible to get the nod of the party hierarchy for the seat and has been campaigning vigorously to represent the Irepodun local government area of the state.
The blond haired Tony Tetuila, who was a bit part player with the Remedies led by Eedris Abdulkareem, broke out from the group to be a solo singer and his song My Car made him very popular and he was calling the shots in the music scene before he fell on bad times and since then, not much has been heard of him, till now.
He now joins the ranks of entertainers like Desmond Elliot, Bob Manuel-Udokwu, Kate Henshaw, 9ice, Julius Agwu, Kenny Saint Brown and others, who have decided to try their hands in politics.
For those who do not know, his real name is Anthony Olarenwaju Awotoye, and he has the slogan, 'Olarenwaju Omo Wa Ni!!!'

Tony's posters are all over the place in his hometown and he is doing everything possible to convince his people that he is the right candidate to deliver.
